I read that Matt Damon was going to do POTA but then he bailed and Mark got it...true or just a rumor?

I don't think it was true as on the pota movie special on mtv, Tim Burton said that MW was always his number one choice.

I don't believe Burton for one second. He's totally lying, because what is he going to say, "Oh yes, the star I neded up with is not the one I wanted." No way! I personally don't believe Mark was first choice...but sure was best!

Hey it's not true-----Matt Damon wasn't supposed to do that role-------from what i know anyways.

I don't mean to dis Mark 'cause I'm hot for him and all, but I highly, highly doubt he was number one for that role. It's just not likely. But thanks for clearing up the Matt Damon thing...who knows?

You have to remember this movie was not always Tim Burton's project. Oliver Stone along with James Cameron were attached to this project since 1998 or thereabouts.

Also Matt Damon's name was attached to every major project after Good Will Hunting. Whether he was ever officially attached, I'd say no, but I remember speculation of Matt, ben (Affleck) and Leo were also in the running. Nothing to do with fitting the role, just Box Office potentials.

Hope this clears it up a bit.
