I know dancindiva will appreciate this, 'cause we notice EVERYTHING from Fear! Do you think it is just by chance that the father is pretty hot-headed? He has a temper on him, slamming cabinets and throwing phones...this type of thing happens many times in the movie. I know he is upset about his daughter being with this maniac, BUT the behavior is manifested before he even meets David, and before he hates him. They say females are sometimes drawn to men that are like their dad. Anyway, I wonder if this was intentional, portraying the dad this way. Yeah, I know I have too much time on my hands! LOL. I sometimes put Fear on (the only Mark movie I own) in the background while I am on here job hunting, so I am SOMEWHAT productive! ha ha

I definitely think you're right, Emat! The film itself seems to acknowledge this in the scene after David and Mr. Walker have their confrontation outside Nicole's school and David starts beating himself in the chest: Nicole walks into the kitchen at home and accuses her father of doing something "a thousand times worse" (I forget her exact words, but it's close to that) than anything David has done, a reference to him beating up Gary. So even though Mr. Walker didn't really beat on David, there's a connection in their capacity for and inclination towards violence. That connection is followed through in the escalation of violence they engage in towards the end. In retaliation for David trashing his car, Mr. Walker breaks into the house where David is staying and ends up trashing it - prompting the revenge mission the boys go on to the Walker residence.

So, yeah. And nice observation!

Good observations ladies. I'll have to rent this again(damn). I guess I'm not that observant or maybe just to preoccupied. I had to rent Three Kings again after reading the posts on here.

I have "Fear" in my VCR quite often as well. But I don't think I could ever simply listen to it - I'd have to turn around for all the kissing scenes... *g*

Good point...I usually turn around for:
1) First time she sees him
2) Roller coaster (I don't bother to turn
around for rave scene anymore, or the kissing after it)
3) Sex scene
4) Car chase (only because he looks especially hot there)

Everthing else I pretty much just half-listen. In certain scenes he does not look as hot as in others. He doesn't look that good (for him, anyway!) in the scene where the father tells him off, and he looks sort of weird when he is sweet-talking Nicole into taking him back.

Frankly, at this point in my life, I get bored after she discovers him cheating. THAT is how many times I've watched...sad...so sad! After that scene happens, I really don't turn around anymore!

i always luv to watch the first kiss and the scene where hes chasing margo in the car. i hafta agree with emat, i dont care for his acting when hes trying to get back together with nicole, he is so much better at being mad. plus he looks way hotter

I love, love, love, the first scene where she spots him playing pool. Ya the love scene is good too. And your right his acting is better when he's mad/psycho. I have to admit i own the movie but haven't watched it in a long time.

I don't know how many times I've seen it, though I'm sure it's not as many as y'all. I still watch all the way through the end (unless I fall asleep; I frequently put it in when I'm going to bed). I do close my eyes when Kaiser's (sp?) head comes through the doggy door, though...

Oooooooooooh, yeah that really bothered me. It was so unnecessary for them to do that...I hated that.

"This must be the savage beast Kaiser"
-"David McCall"

(of course, it sounded more like "Kaisuh" hee hee)
